As an image-maker Elizabeth Alderliesten travels between static and dynamic times. She connects the old with the new, the present with the past. Her images show beauty, softness and tenderness. It is a universal search for the unattainable, for romance.
In 2014 she discovered her camera and with that also discovered her passion. For Elizabeth a camera is a tool to create an image. She works both analog – including with polaroid and pinhole – and digital. The technique she uses depends on the message she wants to convey.
The images made by Elizabeth arise from feeling, the interaction that occurs between model and photographer. She has the natural ability to get very close to her model, resulting in portraits that affect you as a viewer.
Since 1995 Elizabeth has been working as an interior designer and stylist. She likes to make unusual combinations in shape, color and material, in her interiors as well as in her images.
